Vermaelen is New Arsenal Captain, Arteta to Be Vice.

Arsene Wenger has appointed Thommass Vermaelen as the new captain of Arsenal FC.He confirmed this n the Sunderland pre-maatch conference.
The defeender who wore the armband in pre-season had retainedd that position due to th sale of Robin Van Persie  tManchesste United.
Mikel Arteta who joined Arsenal from Everton on transfer deadline day last season is has now taken the position Vermaelen occupied last season (assistant captain).
"It is Vermaelen and Arteta," said Wenger at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

"Vermaelen was vice-captain, so it is a quick decision. I think we have many potential captains in the squad, but at the moment it will be like that."...
