Arsenal defender and vice captain, Thomas Vermaelen has expressed disappointment over Robin van Persie's departure after Arsenal agreed a deal with Manchester United.
Vermaelen said:
"I am disappointed because I wanted him to stay at the club," Vermaelen told Sky Sports News.
"He was fantastic for us in the last year, scored lots of goals and I am disappointed he is going, but we have to focus on the next season with Arsenal.
On whether the club would do well after his departure, Vermaelen thihnks the club can win something with the rest of the team available
"We have to fight and I am confident we have a squad to win something."
