Wenger relieved as Walcott drops contract hint

Arsene Wenger's troublesome summer has been handed a massive boost, with Gunners' winger Theo Walcott indicating during an interview that he is ready to sign a new deal at the Emirates.
Walcott, like wantaway striker Robin van Persie, has just 12 months left on his contract, and has on a number of occasions stalled on talks regarding a new deal to keep him at the club.
However, the 23-year old was quoted as saying in the Daily Star that while it might take some time to strike a deal with Arsenal, it is likely that he will sign a new contract with the North London club.
