When it comes to players leaving, Arsenal fans have gotten used to a pragmatic Arsene Wenger, one who rarely lets his feelings show, but when he was asked today at a press conference which player he would have liked to have signed most this summer his reply of
Van Persie
Was telling in so many ways.
Here is a man who has put his faith in many players when others refused to do so. He has stood by injury and poor performances and he has never once turned on the players to the media.  When it came time for some of these players to repay the loyalty which had been shown to them they chose to walk away.
It was bad enough that Robin van Persie chose to walk away after finally managing to find a way to stay free of injuries, but that he chose to walk to Manchester and put on *that* kit, to stand with the players who had abused him, to play up to...
