Will Barcelona Spoil Arsenal’s Party ?

Arsenal were resting assured that Ajax’s Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen would be joining them in the summer. It seems that it will not be as easy as they initially thought after Ajax’s manager declared that joining Barcelona would be a better move than a switch to England.

Vertonghen led his team to the Dutch Eredivisie a few days ago and is widely touted to quit the Dutch club in the summer, with Arsenal being the most likely destination for the Belgian, as he looks to reunite with his former center-back pal at Ajax and Belgium Thomas Vermaelen.
Arsenal’s London rivals Tottenham were also considered as a possible destination, and this story was set to become a huge battle between two arch rivals over the versatile 25-year old defender.
