Wilshere out of Euro’s/Arteta picks up “serious” ankle injury

Speaking in his post-match interviews after Arsenal’s loss to Wigan at home [what were they doing???] Arsène Wenger has spoken about Mikel Arteta’s injury and Jack Wilshere’s recovery from ankle surgery/continuous injury setbacks.
Arteta was forced off just 9 minutes into last night’s defeat, and at the time I was particularly worried because we need our midfield maestro to be fit to face Chelsea on Saturday. However, Wenger has since confirmed the worst; Arteta’s injury is looking serious. Not only will he not feature against Chelsea, but the chances are that he will miss all the remaining games of the season:
“It is an ankle problem. It looks quite a serious one. We have to scan it tomorrow, it is too early to say tonight. But it doesn’t look a little ankle sprain. It is a serious one.”
